Thom Yorke’s new band

Thom Yorke is one man band. Nobody can doubt that. He did a really great job with his solo album The Eraser and now he is coming with a brand new band that will be called Atoms For Peace.

Atoms For Peace will be consisted by Thom Yorke, Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, Beck/R.E.M drummer Joey Waronker, percussionist/multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco and Red Hot Chilli Peppers bassist Flea. And yes the surprise was Flea. Is he telling us that Red Hot isn’t a band anymore? Who knows…

Atoms For Peace got’s their name by a speech and program spearheaded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in the 50s that set to promote peaceful nuclear energy and aided countries including Iran in their development of atomic power. It’s also the name of a track on Yorke’s solo bow, The Eraser.

Atoms For Peace are going to perform a series of live shows in America during April and the Flying Lotus will be the opening band. Shows include major cities such as New York, Boston, Chicago, Oakland and Santa Barbara. For Further details please follow this link.

Here are two of the Thom Yorke’s album The Eraser for you in case you can’t recall. The first one is called The Eraser in a XXXChange Remix, really different than the original version of The Eraser, and the second one is the Atoms For Peace song that we mentioned earlier.
